Rolling Stones / Rock ‘n’ Rolling Stones (1972).
When ‘Rock ‘n’ Rolling Stones‘ was released, BSA was slowly dying in the dim glow of a lost power and glory. Just like an old Stones’ standard, brilliant but outdated. Already more Rock than Rock n’Blues in 1972, the Rolling Stones, however, were making profits on their already monumental catalogue, and allowed the pressing of a compilation: live recordings and old standards (especially Chuck Berry’s). On the cover, a BSA as a multiplied star around Mick’s head. The star of the Birmingham Small Arms Company momentarily revived in the light of the Rock Star.
